Welcome to my journal which will follow my 6 months working in Cameroon. Already it has documented 9 months studying and living in Senegal. I have decided to continue using the "tilly hat" as the basis of my documentation (whether or not it is in the pictures, it will be with me). My grandpa gave it to my older sister who brought it to Costa Rica, I brought it to Senegal, my "grandma" Susan brought it to Tanzania, and now it crosses the globe once again, for Cameroon.

Sara, the picture of you at the mosque exudes a calm I have not seen in any previous photos. Great explanantion of your expanding knowledege of Islam, Senegalese style. After talking with you today I realize you will be out of contact for the next 3 weeks - safe travels dear! For those of you who don't talk to Sara she will be in the Kikolo Koba Reserve 3/12-16; then to a village near Matam, on the Senegal River, bordering Mauritania; back to Dakar for Easter; then to Bamako,Mali & on to "Dogon country" for hiking with a potential side trip into Burkina beore returning to Saint Louis for April 7th return to school.
love you Sara!
